FAA cracking down on Aircraft Authentication Status

Aircraft owners and operators, check your registration

from www.faasafety.gov

Is your aircraft properly registered? Is the aircraft you are about to operate properly registered? Did you forget to register that new aircraft you recently purchased?

If an aircraft does not have a valid registration or if information contained on the registration is not correct, such as current owner name or address, your aircraft may show a status of "in Question" on FAA records.

On February 1, an operator and/or owner of an aircraft attempting to operate or operating within the NAS without a currently effective registration or a registration which is "questionable" and/or without a TSA required security measure/waiver may have actions taken such as but not limited to:

1. Notification of deficiency

2. A pilot deviation may be filed against the operator

3. The operator may be denied access to the NAS

Check your aircraft registration by going to http://www.faa.gov and clicking on the link "Registrations at Risk" (left hand side), type in your N number. If your aircraft is contained in this list then your registration is "in question." You can contact Aircraft registration toll free at (866) 762-9434 for assistance.

What pilots are saying about the services at Ogden-Hinckley Airport

By Don Amidan, member

As Past President of ORAA, I was concerned by reviews of fellow pilots at www.airnav.com  about "The Greatest Little Airport In Utah." Here are reviews by two pilots visiting (O.J.C.) Ogden Jet Center and OK-3. Below is the good and bad from that forum, for all the reports check out www.airnav.com .

From Bill Parker on 29-Aug-2004

Unbeatable prices. We flew through Ogden on our way home to Palo Alto and were very impressed with Ogden Jet Center. The facilities were like new and the staff was very friendly, even arranging for a hotel and rental car. We will definitely make Ogden a stop if we are ever out that way again.

From Tom Atkinson on 16-Aug-2004

I am really not impressed with the Ogden Jet Center. They treated me poorly, were very rude, and not the least bit helpful. They charge everyone a "landing fee" even though the airport manager says that the landing fee only applies to part 135 operators. Nice to know about the honesty at this company! I can see from previous comments posted on this web site that I should have never come to this FBO, should have read the reviews first. Next time I will check out that other FBO right by the tower. I think there are only the two FBOs. I'm sure the other FBO can't be NEARLY as bad as jet center was!

Response from Ed Rich, airport manager

I am the airport manager and would like to clarify landing fee. Any commercial flight at $0.60 per 1000 lbs. We welcome everyone and know you will have a good experience at Ogden.

With 13 comments for O.J.C. - 13. Score - 6 positive and 7 negative.

With 5 comments for OK-3. - 5 Score - 4 positive and 1 negative.

With 0 comments for K.J.S. - 0 Score - (n/a).

Let’s be helpful when we meet transient pilots at our GREAT LITTLE AIRPORT. Thanks.
